The Fassa Valley and the "Alpen Hotel Corona" are greatly loved by countless sports and ski champions, because they are an ideal departure point for the best excursions on snow. Beginning with the enchanting Campiedie (God's field), 2000 meters of altitude, which towers exactly over the "Alpen Hotel Corona" and gives its name to one of the most renowned ski areas. There are slopes of different levels: from the "Thoeni" slope, which measures 4,5 km, to the black slope "Alberto Tomba", named after the champion from Bologna who used to train here during his career. He and his teacher, Thoeni, chose the "Alpen Hotel Corona" for their stays. From here, thanks to the many connections of the nearby Buffaure with the snow-clad slopes of the Ciampac, Canazei, and Belvedere, Vigo di Fassa offers the possibility of passing through breathtaking panoramas on your skis. A different destination can be chosen every day: you can easily reach all the other ski areas of the valley or you can try the famous "giro dei 4 passi" (tour of the 4 passes), aka "Sellaronda", passing the Sella, Gardena, Fedaia, and Pordoi. This tour is characterized by its unique panorama dominated by delightful summits, suggestive and unforgettable patches, through which you will be able to reach, on your skis or on foot, the nearby Val Gardena, Val Badia, and Arabba, or the gripping S. Pellegrino Pass. You will be surrounded by a 360° natural sight everywhere, reaching as far as the Sassolungo, Sella, Pordoi, and the Marmolada, the highest mountain of the Dolomites (3.343 m). However, Vigo di Fassa is also a highly envied ski area because of its innovative ski lifts and the qualities of its slopes, which, thanks to the snow covering system and their perfect maintenance, always grant funny downhill experiences. Moreover, you will find a highly equipped area for the whole family and characterized by the big Baby Park, where your children can be entrusted to the renowned Vigo di Fassa Ski School. Even if there are countless attractions drawing the skier to this snow-clad paradise, even the less sporting persons will be able to entertain themselves in the cosy refuges of the ample terraces, which quickly enable an enviable suntan. Finally, the ski areas and cableways of the Latemar, of Carezza, Obereggen, and the Fiemme Valley are very near. The "Alpen Hotel Corona" is 35 km from the South Tyrolean regional capital Bolzano and 80 km from Trento.
