SELLARONDA BIKE DAY
On 24/06/2012 from 8.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m.
Cycling day open to everyone crossing the Dolomite passes.The Sella Group will be the theatre of the 7th edition of the non-competition bike race "Sellaronda Bike Day" that is taking place on 24th June, from 8.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m.
The four Passes - Sella, Gardena, Pordoi and Campolongo - will be closed to the traffic. Everyone is invited to take part in the race!

Südtirol Sellaronda Hero Mtb-Marathon
The hardest mountain bike race of Europe set in one of the most beautiful natural landscapes in the world, the Dolomites.
The first course "Marathon" measuring 82 km and 4.200 m of difference of level will confer the title Hero of the "Sellaronda Hero Mtb-Marathon"; the second course "Classic" measuring 50 km and 2.600 m of difference of levelis for those who like to enjoy the breathtaking view on the Dolomites, Natural World Heritage Site of the Unesco. Val di Fassa Running
Since 2012 the "Traslaval", the traditional Val di Fassa foot race, changes name and will be called "Val di Fassa Running".
It's divided in 5 laps with a challenging route of 57,5 km developed among the suggestive natural landscapes of Val di Fassa, that will take place from the 24th to the 29th of June. A week for the family, for those who love the uncontaminated nature of the Val di Fassa, for those who love to walk and run in the pure and sparkling air of the mountains. 6 days for athletes, for those who want to prepare for the autumn marathons in the Dolomites.
Alpen Hotel Corona reserves each athlete a discount of 5% (from 23.06 to 30.06)

Vertical Kilometer
A race (starting point in Alba di Canazei at 1.465 mt in order to reach the top of the Crepa Neigra mountain at 2.465 mt) of 2,10 km along the lightning path ("sentiero del fulmine"), with a 1.000 meters difference in height and medium inclinations of 50%.
The race is valid on the 2012 for the Vertical Kilometer World Championships.

SPECIAL DOLOMITES
4th stage of the cycling tour of the Dolomites. Start: at 7.30 a.m. in Bolzano. Arrival at 5.30 p.m. in Bolzano. IV stage: km 155,6. Difference of level 3.235 m.
The sport association Giro delle Dolomiti - Dolomiten Radrundfahrt organises the 36th edition of the "Giro of the Dolomites" (an amateur and tourist cycle race), that will allow two choices:
- complete Giro: 6 stages, from July 29th to August 4th 2012 (no races are foreseen on Wednesday, August 1st);
- short Giro: 3 stages, from August 2nd to August 4th 2012. The courses of this Short Giro will be the same foreseen in the same days for the complete Giro in 6 stages, but with separate classified results.
Participation in single stages is possible.

DOLOMITES
On Friday, 26th June 2009, the Dolomites were placed on the prestigious list of Natural World Heritage Sites.
The decision was made by UNESCO at its annual world congress. UNESCO was enchanted by the beauty of the Dolomites: pointed spires, jagged summits and glorious colors that change throughout the day.
At sunset the Dolomites turn a fiery red, then change to violet before disappearing into the night. This is the “Enrosadira” – a phenomenon caused by the unusual chemical composition of dolomite – a natural spectacle that is beyond compare
